$19,200. That’s the amount I have to raise for this mission opportunity. You can look at that number and think, “Wow, that’s a lot.” And it is. But what does that money actually go to?
The money raised for this trip provides a multitude of needs: food, lodging, insurance (that, my friend, is a big one), visas, supplies, communication, training, debriefs, airfare, local transportation, long-distance transportation, vehicle rental and fuel, logistics, host relationships, admissions, mentoring, coaching, and ministry leadership.
For some people, giving happens without a second thought. For others, giving has been a major barrier to trusting the Lord because of what their eyes can see.
We don’t live in a world where everyone is trustworthy. We don’t live in a world where we are all without sin. But we do live in a world where God is good. We live in a world where our ultimate Judge is the Lord. We live in a world where He sees the heart and motive of the giver regardless of the action of the receiver.
When I read the story of Ananias and Sapphira, it gave me peace and confidence in how I steward the money the Lord has given me (because it’s all His in the first place, right?). Through this story, I realized everything will come to the light, and as scripture says, “everyone will give an account of ourselves to God.”
So, I don’t worry about other’s actions because God will HANDLE THAT! (Honestly, I’d be fearful to be the person who chooses to try to doublecross the Lord with His money i.e. check the ending of Ananias and Sapphira.) However, I do still use the wisdom the Lord has given me and I hold to the convictions He has placed on my heart when dealing with His money.
That’s my hope and encouragement for you as well.
It is also my hope and encouragement that you would know, to the best of my ability, where your support is going in order to alleviate any barrier that could be caused because of this concern. Therefore, this link has a breakdown of the finances provided by Adventures in Missions letting you know how funds are divvied.
If you have supported financially, thank you for trusting me and AIM to deal honestly with your investment into the kingdom. To all my supporters, thank you for believing in the work that the Lord will do in and through this vessel.
Until Heaven or Sooner,
P.S. I’m $4,418 from my goal. If you’d like to help me reach it before October 1, click here to donate.
