In my last post, I shared with you a troubling situation in the village of Chuquibambilla. In this post, you get to meet and hear the hearts of the two missionaries, Pablo and Belen, who have decided to call the jungle their home in order to bring Christ to all peoples.
Here’s a video recap of our first month of ministry in Peru. We worked with three different ministries, each diverse in its own way. Hope you enjoy the video and get a good glimpse of what our time has looked like!
I wasn’t tired of teaching before I committed to the race, but I was fed up of having to do everything besides simply teach: discipline, grades, administration, etc. You name it. If it contributed to teacher burnout, I was done with it.
We stepped off the airplane and it has been nonstop go for us. Today is our first actual “rest day” and even that consists of packing for the jungle proceeded by a 12-hour bus ride.
If we’re honest, following the Lord is not always “easy” or “fun.” It is definitely fulfilling and worth it, but it does call for sacrifice. Jesus said it himself, “If anyone would be my disciple, they must deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow me.”
We don’t live in a world where everyone is trustworthy. We don’t live in a world where we are all without sin. But we do live in a world where God is good. We live in a world where our ultimate Judge is the Lord. We live in a world where He sees the heart and motive of the giver regardless of the action of the receiver.
